Being active in live is important for every person. Activity proves a healthy constitution and some form of success in life. Only active people can reach goals. Passive people stay behind and hardly ever successful. But it is not easy to have and an active lifestyle, being healthy and have energy enough to do whatever life is asking of you. There is a way how to multiply energy and live a healthy life at the same time.
A few decennia ago I came across Electro stimulation. Product were sold to lose weight, get ripped muscles and relieve from pain. EMS and TENS were new and exiting but totally misunderstood. The development took place in shady places of commercial “labs” which had not scientific understanding of the effects on human tissue. It was a sales show to see the muscle contract and get stronger.
Science got interested and numerous research projects took place. Physiotherapist took the machines and used it for revalidation, recuperation and wound healing. Most with little or no more knowledge than the manual received upon delivery. Without a glue but with a feeling of “being innovative” they used the tools for promotion.
In 1994 we did start the Age Control project in Taiwan. Goals; re-energize older people to live a longer and more healthy life. In the project we integrated Tai Chi, different exercise programs and Hsieh also tried the Preventive Healthcare tests. She struggled hard to make people believe in the results and convinced the best of the best. But the Dutch NIPED failed to deliver. We were shocked. But we did not give up.
Around 2015 the EMS re-emerged from the clouds. Most physiotherapist already sold their machines but some daring entrepreneurs never gave up believing. The WB (Whole Body) EMS was introduced in the market. The advertising was directed to the many easy go fit people. Customers who are always looking for the easiest and fastest way to get fit and in shape. This appealing feature is still a growing market. But it has a negative side.
After a training the customer experiences “soar” muscle pain. A dry, hard and not comfortable pain in the muscles. Commerce told them that this sign proves it works well. Muscle pain is a sign you have actively exercised. In 20 minutes you are shaped. The pain is proving it. But the pain is a sign of something else. Electrolytes are depleted, water famished and recuperation is slow. Some main ingredients of a positive results are missing.
Science did proof that EMS is only really affective if it is made part of a full schedule and not used as a singular entity. In our research we added 30-45 minutes pre-training with a specific individual intensity. Mine is 70-85% of 1 RM. After this training we take a 45-60 minutes break (for instance by moving from one location to the other) and a drink with REDOX power. The Redox formula is made by me (biochemist) from different redox salts, water, seaweed and a little flavor to compensate the future loss.
The next WB-EMS session varies from 70-85% intensity (around 85Hz), pulse wide 50-70 mS and pulse frequency 200 – 300 mS. This can vary per training. Series of exercises using body weight and different resistances is used to maximize impact of the electricity. After the training a TENS session of 5-10 minutes is used for stretching and recuperation.

Instead of muscle soreness without the Redox formula, we fell energized for days. All participants feel the same way. No muscle pain a lengthy feeling of energy for days and a good mood. Sleep is deeper and emotional stress is much lower. This feeling last for at least 3 to 4 days. After the 4th day it is slowly fading away.
The energetic feeling is good as the productivity from body and mind is improving day by day. Altogether , the results are amazing and we would like to invite others to take part in the trials all around the world.
